Folding bikes are cool :)

Do you worry that owning a folding bike might make you a laughingstock among your friends? We mean, a number of them might have these really cool, state of the art racing or mountain bikes, but when you guys get together for a ride at the park on the weekend, they start making jokes when you wheel out your folding bike?

Granted, a folding bike is not "cool-looking", whatever that means. And it's heavier than the average racing bike. For example, the 1607 Eco-Park Comp folding bike weighs 12.7kg, while the average racing bike weighs about 8kg.

So, it seems that there are more disadvantages than advantages to owning a folding bike. But just imagine the look on your friends' faces when you simply fold your bike and put it in the back seat of your compact car. They, on the other hand, have to strap their bikes to the back of their cars or on the rooftop, which takes some time and effort. For an idea of how easy it is to unfold a folding bike, have a look at the video here.
